Puppy Preschool / On Leash Obedience / Off Leash Obedience / Behavioral Modification
Few pleasures in life rival that of owning a new puppy. However, with that joy comes responsibility. Puppies have no idea as to what we except of them. It is your responsibility to your dog, your family, and to your neighborhood that you raise and guide your puppy to be a good canine citizen.

Puppy Preschool will help you get started on the right foot with your new best friend. The class is specially designed for puppies under the age of 20 weeks who are not mature enough for formal obedience training but have very unique training needs. During these first five months of your puppy's life it is critical that your puppy establish healthy emotional and social bonds with you and his environment. After these first 20 weeks your dogs' critical socialization stages are over and any socialization that you do after this point will not be as effective.

Puppy Preschool is four small group lessons and held in a safe and clean environment.

We offer a choice of two obedience programs: 1) private one-on- one training; and 2) in-board residency training.

This is a six week program that lasts for one hour a week. There are evening and morning lessons available.

Result based programs. Every dog and owner are individuals and learn in different ways and at different rates. We match the training to the individual dog and owner to insure the highest level of training. There is no charge if extra lessons are needed past the scheduled six weeks.

Also available to you is a FREE Distraction Proofing & Problem Solving Group Class held once a month. This is for clients who would like a little extra follow up in distractions or just want to stay in practice.

During the In-Board Residency Program the dog lives with the trainer for eleven days. Upon completion of the boarding stay there are 2-4 private transfer lessons to the owner. The first lesson is at the trainer's house and lasts about an hour and the following lesson(s) is at the owner's home and lasts about a half hour.

There is a large fenced-in yard and doggie playground.  The grounds are professionally treated often to prevent flea and tick infestations.

Daily playtime - group play with other dogs if they are social or individual playtime for the unsocial.

Personal time with the trainer besides the training session. This increases the bond between the trainer and the dog, which helps tremendously in training. This time can be playing soccer or fetch, cuddle time while watching TV, or a relaxing massage.

There is an instructional go home video included with your program. This video covers all the commands your dog has been taught, the most common questions from previous clients and how to fix them, and basic behavioral problem solving suggestions.

Also available to you is a free Distraction Proofing and Problem Solving Group Class held once a month. This is for clients who would like a little extra follow up or just want to stay in practice.

* Must have completed the On-leash Private or In-board Program first.

Off Leash is available in either Private Lessons (6 weeks) or our In-board Program (3 weeks).

All on-leash obedience skills (see above) are taught off leash. Also included is the emergency down command for safety, for example the ball rolls in the street or you have just called him from across the street and a car is coming.

The last lesson of the program is done in an area where you'll be using the commands, for example at a city park or the beach.

Also included (upon request) is boundary training to your front yard to insure a higher level of safety.

Every case is unique to itself and requires personal evaluation to determine the best approach to take in solving the problem. Behavioral modification addresses issues like shyness, aggressions, biting, anxiety, possessiveness, hyperactivity, and much, much more. This evaluation is offered free of charge.
